Embassies advise ‘caution’ amid security developments in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, June 3: In light of the recent security developments, several embassies in the country issued advisories and guidelines to their citizens, urging them to exercise caution, adhere to the instructions of the Kuwaiti authorities, and stay informed through official channels to ensure their safety.

The British Embassy called on its citizens to remain vigilant and follow instructions issued by official bodies, as well as to stay updated on travel advisories. It confirmed the availability of urgent consular assistance services round the clock.

The Italian Embassy advised its citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during this period, remain where they are, follow official instructions, stay away from military sites, monitor flight status, and ensure the validity of their travel documents.

The German Embassy urged German citizens to follow security alerts and travel guidelines, and to register in the emergency system to receive updates and important information.

The Belgian Embassy called on its citizens to exercise caution and vigilance and to comply with the directives issued by the Kuwaiti authorities. It affirmed the availability of communication channels and emergency services to assist citizens, if needed.

The French Embassy stressed the importance of adhering to official guidelines and seeking shelter upon hearing air raid sirens. It also urged its citizens to monitor flight status through the airlines, refrain from approaching debris or suspicious objects, and immediately report them to the concerned authorities. The embassies emphasized in their statements that the safety of their citizens is a top priority, calling on everyone to obtain news and information from official and reliable sources in Kuwait and to fully abide by the instructions of the relevant authorities.
