KUWAIT CITY, July 17: Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem on Friday inspected the power and water desalination plant damaged in the recent attack, reviewing the extent of the destruction and the progress of emergency response and recovery operations.

The minister was accompanied by Ahmadi Governor Sheikh Hamoud Al-Jaber and Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Adel Al-Zamel during the visit, where they received a detailed technical briefing on the damage sustained, the immediate response measures taken, and ongoing plans to rehabilitate the affected facilities and restore operations.

The delegation also observed the efforts of firefighting, security, engineering and technical teams working around the clock at the site. Officials praised the rapid response and professionalism of the field crews in containing the incident and accelerating restoration work.

Dr. Al-Mukhaizeem affirmed that the ministry is operating at full capacity, mobilizing all technical and human resources in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure the continued production of electricity and desalinated water while minimizing any disruption to services.

He also commended ministry personnel for their dedication in carrying out their national duty under difficult circumstances and directed officials to continue damage assessments and repair work in accordance with the highest standards of quality and safety.

The inspection follows the attack on the power and water desalination plant, which caused damage to facilities and generation units, prompting the activation of emergency plans to safeguard the stability of Kuwait's electricity and water supply.
