KUWAIT CITY, Feb 21: A minor fire broke out in a detention cell at the Shuwaikh Police Station, reportedly due to an electrical short circuit. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported among detainees or security personnel.

On-duty officers acted promptly, evacuating all detainees from the affected cell as a precaution and in line with established safety protocols. The situation was swiftly brought under control.

Capital Governorate Director of Security Abdulaziz Al-Omar arrived at the station to personally assess the incident, while Station Chief Ahmed Al-Jassar supervised the response to ensure the safety of all present.

Firefighting teams from the General Fire Department responded to the scene, extinguished the blaze completely, and carried out technical measures to prevent any possibility of reignition.

An official investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the electrical fault and to review additional safety measures if required.
