Tarek Yehia and his son Abdelrahman

CAIRO, March 2: The Egyptian Football Association has suspended Abdelrahman Saeed, administrator of Al Ahly SC (2009 age group), for eight matches and fined him after he assaulted Abdelrahman Tarek Yehia, deputy head of the youth sector at ZED FC and son of former Zamalek player and coach Tarek Yehia.

The disciplinary action followed ZED’s 3-1 victory over Al Ahly, which secured the Republic League title for the second straight season. Tensions flared after the final whistle, with clashes occurring between members of both teams’ administrative staffs.

In its official statement, the Egyptian FA also fined Al Ahly EGP 1,000 for delaying their entry onto the pitch. The club received an additional EGP 5,000 fine for the technical and administrative staff entering the field and repeatedly protesting as a group, along with another EGP 5,000 for misconduct by staff members and substitutes toward the opposing team.

Further sanctions included a one-match suspension and EGP 1,000 fine for youth sector head Walid Soliman after his dismissal for entering the field to protest. Head coach Mohamed Ezz was suspended for two matches and fined EGP 5,000 for protesting and encouraging the team to withdraw, while goalkeeping coach Ihab Khamis Mohamed received a four-match ban and EGP 1,000 fine for unsporting behavior following his sending-off.

The FA stated that Saeed’s actions led to a temporary stoppage of the match, prompting the eight-match suspension and EGP 10,000 fine.
