Eid Holiday Causes Tomato Shortage, Kuwait Minister Visits Market to Assess Supply

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 25: His Excellency Osama Al-Boodai conducted a field tour to review the production and supply of tomatoes following a slight shortage in the markets caused by the Eid holiday.

The tour included a visit to the Central Vegetable and Fruit Market Auction, where officials observed approximately 34,000 cartons of tomatoes at the auction and around 16,000 cartons at the Kuwaiti Farmers Union auction. The minister also visited the Kuwaiti Farmers Union auction to discuss production conditions, the consistency of supply operations, and challenges affecting the market.

The visit underscores the ministry’s commitment to ensuring a steady food supply and market stability, particularly during periods of high demand.
