Egyptian Man with Criminal Record Caught Fleeing Kuwait Deportation

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 22: In a dramatic incident, an Egyptian expatriate with a criminal record attempted to flee from the custody of Kuwaiti Police officers while being transferred to the Deportation Center. He tried to escape on foot, but was quickly recaptured, handcuffed, and taken to a cell in the Deportation Prison. Authorities confirmed that he remains in detention, awaiting formal deportation proceedings.

This episode comes amid a broader crackdown by Kuwaiti authorities. According to the Ministry of Interior, about 34,143 expatriates have been deported from Kuwait between January 1 and November 10, 2025, for a variety of offenses, including residency violations, criminal activity, and behavioral infractions.

Security officials say this is part of an intensified campaign to enforce administrative compliance and preserve public order.
