Egyptian expatriate found guilty in Kuwaiti Teachers Association’s fraud case.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 26, (Agencies): The Court of Appeals, presided over by Judge Abdullah Al-Sanai, has sentenced an Egyptian expatriate, who held the position of the financial manager for the Kuwaiti Teachers Association, to 15 years in prison with labor and a fine of one million dinars. This verdict is related to a case involving embezzlement of funds from the Kuwaiti Teachers Association and money laundering.

The incident revolves around the Egyptian expatriate increasing his salary multiple times and adding undeserved salaries for fictitious individuals. He also used his authority to issue checks to others, executing financial embezzlements using his official position.

Investigations revealed that the accused was responsible for preparing salary statements and increasing the value of his own salary over an extended period, starting from the year 2018. He also issued five checks without proper justification from the Kuwaiti Teachers Association’s account before his actions were exposed in October 2021.
