KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has launched an investigation after an Egyptian expatriate reported that he was allegedly kidnapped, assaulted and robbed of KD 840 by 12 unidentified individuals in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.
The expatriate filed a complaint at Jleeb Police Station, claiming that the 12 men, whom he said he did not know, took him to the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, assaulted him and stole his money before fleeing the scene.
A felony case has been registered, while the Public Prosecution has ordered investigations to identify those involved and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Security detectives are also working to verify the complainant’s account and determine whether he had any prior acquaintance with the suspects or whether there was an underlying motive for the alleged assault and robbery. Authorities are continuing their efforts to identify and apprehend the suspects.
