KUWAIT CITY: Security authorities have arrested an Egyptian expatriate in Farwaniya on suspicion of forging residential lease agreements and selling them to expatriates seeking to change their registered addresses.
According to security sources, the forgery investigation unit received information about the suspect’s alleged activities and, after verifying the information, raided his residence. Authorities reportedly found a number of forged lease agreements in his possession.
During questioning, the suspect allegedly confessed to the activity and identified accomplices who were also arrested. According to the source, the group was allegedly involved in forging and selling the agreements to expatriates in return for money.
A forgery case was registered against the suspects, and they were referred to the relevant authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.
