Egyptian Expat and Two Asian Domestic Workers Arrested in Kuwait Drug Trafficking Case

KUWAIT CITY, Jul 22: Officers from the General Department for Drug Control have referred three expatriates to the Public Prosecution on charges of drug trafficking after seizing more than six kilograms of narcotics from a residence in Salmiya.

The suspects include two domestic workers holding Article 20 visas and one unemployed expatriate holding an Article 18 visa. The seized substances included crystal meth, hashish and Lyrica.

According to security sources, anti-narcotics officers received information about an Asian woman placing suspicious packages near an abandoned vehicle in a dirt area in Salmiya. Officers who arrived at the scene found packages containing narcotics and later traced the woman to her residence.

A search of the room uncovered additional quantities of drugs prepared for distribution. Another woman was also arrested, and both women reportedly admitted to involvement in drug dealing. They told investigators they received instructions from an Egyptian man who contacted them by phone and directed them to deliver narcotics to specific locations.

Investigations revealed that the women were allegedly paying bribes to avoid reporting to their sponsor for work.

After obtaining permission from the Public Prosecution, security officers raided the Egyptian man’s apartment, where they found more than six kilograms of various narcotics. He was arrested and reportedly confessed to working in drug trafficking full-time.

Authorities registered the case and referred all three suspects to the Public Prosecution for further legal action.
