Egyptian accused of taking hefty bribes to stay in jail

KUWAIT CITY, May 6: The Sentences Renewal Judge has refused to release the Egyptian legal consultant working for the Ministry of Electricity and Water on bail and instead he has been remanded to police custody for ten more days, reports Al-Qabas daily. According to reliable sources the suspect has collected more than KD 400,000 in bribes to facilitate projects. The Public Prosecution has requested the concerned investigation agencies to track the man’s money transfers and all his transactions.

Fighting in public: Two Kuwaiti youths have been arrested and referred to the Fintas Police Station for fighting in a public place, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, this happened when the girlfriend of one them informed her boyfriend that someone was harassing her and gave the man the cell phone number of the suspect. The boyfriend called the number and requested the man at the other end to meet him in a parking lot and during discussion both men lost their temper and beat each other.
