KUWAIT CITY, Dec 22: The Hawally Criminal Investigation Department has registered an assault case, No. 239/2025, at the Hawally Police Station following a complaint filed by a Pakistani expatriate, who reported that he had been assaulted by an Egyptian expatriate.

According to a security source from the Criminal Security Sector’s Hawally Governorate Investigation Department, detectives immediately launched search and investigation procedures upon receiving the report. The accused was subsequently summoned and appeared voluntarily before the authorities.

During questioning, the accused admitted that a verbal dispute had taken place between him and the complainant, which later escalated into a physical altercation. He claimed that he punched the complainant in the face, after which the complainant struck him on the head with an ashtray that was on a table, causing him injury.

However, the complainant denied this version of events, stating that the dispute began when he attempted to intervene and break up a fight involving the accused and another individual. He alleged that the accused then attacked him, following which he was struck with the ashtray.

Preliminary investigations determined that the accused was responsible for the assault. The attack resulted in the victim sustaining a head injury that required five stitches, according to a medical report issued by Mubarak Hospital.

Based on the outcome of the investigation, the accused has been referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action.
