Egypt, Qatar and GCC Condemn Attacks on Saudi Arabia, Express Solidarity

CAIRO, July 29: Egypt, Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Wednesday strongly condemned attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, expressing full solidarity with the Kingdom and backing measures to protect its security and sovereignty.

Egypt's Foreign Ministry condemned attacks on oil facilities in eastern Saudi Arabia as well as separate attacks targeting Jordan, describing them as violations of national sovereignty and international law that threaten regional stability and global energy security. Cairo reaffirmed its support for Saudi Arabia and Jordan and endorsed measures taken by both countries to safeguard their security and vital infrastructure.

Qatar also condemned attempted drone attacks launched from Iraqi territory against oil facilities in eastern Saudi Arabia. Doha said the attacks violated Saudi sovereignty and threatened the Kingdom’s security and territorial integrity, reaffirming its full support for Riyadh and all lawful measures taken to protect the country.

Meanwhile, the GCC condemned continued attacks on Saudi Arabia by Iran-backed forces in Iraq. GCC Secretary General Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi described the attacks as a serious escalation, a violation of Saudi sovereignty, and a direct threat to regional security, reiterating the council’s full support for Saudi Arabia’s efforts to defend its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
