RIYADH, March 28: Egypt delivered a dominant performance, defeating hosts Saudi Arabia 4-0 in a friendly match as both sides gear up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Islam Issa opened the scoring in the 4th minute, with Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” doubling the lead in the 16th. Ahmed “Zizo” added a third just before halftime in the 44th minute, giving Egypt a comfortable advantage at the break.
The Pharaohs maintained control in the second half, with Omar Marmoush netting the fourth goal in the 56th minute to seal a comprehensive victory.
The match serves as part of the preparations for the 2026 World Cup, set to take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Egypt will compete in Group G alongside Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand, while Saudi Arabia is drawn in Group H with Spain, Cape Verde, and Uruguay.
Both teams aim to use these friendlies to fine-tune their lineups and boost readiness ahead of the tournament.
