DOHA, Dec 11: The Egyptian national soccer squad defeated the Jordanian 3-1 in the quarterfinal of the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup on Saturday, thus cruising into the semifinal. The exciting showdown, hosted by Al Janoub Stadium, saw Jordan's forwarder Yazan Al-Naimat scoring the opener as early as minute 12. Egypt's defender Marwan Hamdy equalized at minute 45 and the continued draw forced going into extra time.
Egypt's midfielder Ahmad Refaat doubled the score the at minute 99 while the forwarder Marwan Dawoud squashed Jordanians' expectations at minute 119. The Egyptian team will face Tunisia's in the semifinal on Wednesday while the Qatari team waits for the winner of the Algeria-Morocco game, due to be determined later tonight..
