KUWAIT CITY, July 11: Egg producing companies have lodged a complaint with the Competition Protection Authority against the unjust competition in the market, as some companies had to succumb to the competition in the last phase and sell their products for lesser cost, reports Al-Rai daily quoting informed sources.

They revealed that more than five companies lodged the complaint with the Competition Protection Authority, and the officials of these companies clarified in their complaints that they had to sell a carton of eggs for KD 0.570, which is less than the cost price, particularly when the selling price in most cooperative societies is nearly KD 1.2 per carton. The sources said the complainants urged the Competition Protection Authority to intervene in this matter, adding that the authority is still reviewing the complaint filed in this regard.
