Third batch of fake certificates sent to the prosecution
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: On Monday, Dr. Adel Al-Adwani, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, referred a third batch of forged scientific and medical certificates of employees in the Ministry of Education to the Public Prosecution. The Ministry of Education stated in a press release that this action is part of ongoing efforts to enforce the law and combat forged certificates, reaffirming the Minister’s commitment to continuing the reform process and preventing violations.
The statement added that Minister Al-Adwani had approved the recommendations from the investigation committee concerning high school certificates issued by Arab countries and certified by the General Administration of Private Education. These certificates have been referred to the Public Prosecution, with their equivalency withdrawn, and the concerned authorities have been instructed to correct the procedure.
The ministry noted that this action is part of a series of stringent measures taken by Minister Al-Adwani to ensure the integrity and credibility of the educational system, uphold the principles of honesty and justice, and address any threats to the system’s safety. It emphasized the need for the relevant departments to verify the validity of medical certificates submitted by employees, enforce administrative systems and regulations, impose oversight, control work procedures, and apply the highest standards of transparency and accountability.
The Ministry of Education has been reviewing secondary school certificates from both within and outside Kuwait since 2005. Three specialized teams were formed under the Minister's directives to review these certificates. The sector has implemented precise procedures and mechanisms to ensure the validity of certificate equivalency, including coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to verify certificates with the issuing country. Only certificates from recognized schools, authenticated by the Kuwaiti Embassy, are approved. An electronic program has been activated to store transaction data, facilitating the review and verification of certificates and their validity.
