Early Signs Of Winter Begin To Emerge In Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 10: The Al-Ujairi Scientific Center announced that the third phase of the Wasim season, known as Al-Ghafr, begins on Tuesday, November 11, and will continue for 13 days. This phase marks the start of the second half of the Wasim season, a period during which temperatures typically begin to decline.

In a press statement, the center explained that Al-Ghafr represents the seventh stage of autumn and is distinguished by noticeably cooler weather and milder daytime temperatures. During this period, nights continue to lengthen while daylight hours shorten. The center added that the timing of the Asr (afternoon) prayer reaches its earliest point of the year, beginning at 2:34 PM and gradually shifting to 2:31 PM.

According to the center, nights last approximately 13 hours and 12 minutes during Al-Ghafr, with sunrise occurring at 6:08 AM at the beginning of the phase and at 6:19 AM toward the end. The agricultural calendar also designates this period as suitable for planting all varieties of winter grains, while date palms are typically fertilized and their soil tilled.

The Al-Ujairi Scientific Center further noted that Al-Ghafr signals the onset of early winter conditions. Nights become noticeably colder, daytime temperatures remain moderate, and the period is often accompanied by daytime winds, rough seas, and cold morning water temperatures.
