DUBAI, Mar 7: Authorities in Dubai have confirmed that a minor incident involving falling debris occurred following the interception of an aerial threat by the country’s air defence systems, while dismissing rumours circulating on social media about any incident at Dubai International Airport.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Dubai Government Media Office said competent authorities handled a “limited incident” caused by the fall of a fragment resulting from the successful interception of an aerial threat linked to the ongoing Iranian attacks in the region.

The office confirmed that no injuries were recorded and the situation was brought under control swiftly by the relevant authorities.

Officials also stressed that reports circulating online claiming that Dubai International Airport had been involved in an incident are false.

Authorities urged the public to rely on official sources for information and avoid spreading unverified reports during the current regional developments.
