DUBAI, Apr 3: All masses and activities at St Mary’s Catholic Church and St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church have been suspended from Friday, April 3, until further notice, with both churches closing their premises in line with government directives. Parishioners have been urged not to visit, citing safety concerns, with St Francis confirming no livestream services, while St Mary’s said Good Friday services will be streamed online.
The decision comes during Holy Week, the most significant period in the Christian calendar leading up to Easter. As of now, no similar announcements have been made by churches in other emirates, while the Apostolic Vicariate of Southern Arabia has yet to issue an official statement.
