HYDERABAD, Apr 23: India’s Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has detected a significant amount of undeclared foreign currency at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport during a security operation.

According to officials, the CISF CIW team intercepted a passenger on April 22, 2026, who was preparing to depart from Hyderabad to Dubai after exhibiting suspicious behavior during profiling checks. The passenger was escorted for further screening, where X-ray baggage inspection revealed anomalies.

A detailed search of the hand baggage led to the discovery of foreign currency, including US dollars, UAE dirhams, and Saudi riyals, with an estimated value of approximately ₹9.62 lakh.

The passenger, along with the seized currency, was subsequently handed over to customs authorities for further investigation and necessary legal action.
