DUBAI, Mar 2: Long-haul carriers Etihad and Emirates have restarted limited flights after halting them for the ongoing war. The carriers, based in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, launched flights Monday afternoon. Flight-tracking data showed Etihad flights moving first. Dubai’s government said it would have a “limited resumption of operations,” telling passengers only to come to the airport if they had been contacted directly.

In a statement published on its website, the operator urged passengers not to proceed to the airports unless they have been contacted by their respective airlines to confirm departure times, citing ongoing adjustments to flight schedules.

The company stressed the importance of checking directly with airlines for the latest updates and said further information would be issued as the situation evolves.

Last Saturday, Dubai Airports announced the suspension of all operations at Dubai International Airport until further notice, amid escalating military activity in the region.

It noted that several flights at both DXB and DWC had been canceled or delayed due to the partial and temporary closure of UAE airspace — an exceptional precautionary step taken in response to the rapidly changing regional security environment.

Dubai Airports reiterated that passengers should refrain from traveling to the airports at this stage, emphasizing that operational safety and passenger security remain its highest priorities.
