Drunken New Year Fight Claims Life of Kuwaiti Citizen

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 1: A violent altercation among cousins in the early hours of New Year’s Day turned deadly in Kuwait, claiming the life of a Kuwaiti citizen after a drunken brawl spiraled out of control. The incident occurred at around 4:00 a.m. near the Al-Subiya bridge, where seven cousins—five Kuwaitis and two stateless individuals (Bedoun)—were reportedly involved in a fierce fight while under severe intoxication.

According to preliminary details, the confrontation escalated rapidly, resulting in multiple injuries. During the chaos, the victim, identified as (K.H.), collapsed after vomiting repeatedly and losing consciousness. Police and ambulance teams rushed to the scene and transported him to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The case has since been classified as a felony, and the Public Prosecution has launched an on-site investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death.

Sources added that tensions continued to run high even after the incident, with relatives from both sides reportedly engaging in another fight inside the hospital before security forces intervened and brought the situation under control. Investigations are ongoing to establish the causes of the fatal incident and determine legal responsibility.
