In a statement, the Ministry said that the operations were part of ongoing nationwide security efforts and intensive campaigns carried out by the Criminal Security Sector to combat the scourge of drugs. The targeted operations, conducted across several areas, resulted in a series of major arrests and significant drug seizures.

In the Al-Rai area, a Kuwaiti citizen and an illegal resident were apprehended with about 2.5 kilograms of marijuana, one kilogram of synthetic drugs (“chemical”), a precision scale, and a firearm. In Qurtuba, an Asian national was arrested with 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine (“shabu”) and 500 grams of heroin.

Meanwhile, in the Al-Shuhada and Funaitees areas, two Kuwaiti citizens were arrested in possession of approximately 3.5 kilograms of hashish, two grams of cocaine, one gram of shabu, and a precision scale. In a separate case in Khaitan, an Asian female suspect was arrested with around three kilograms of shabu, 500 grams of hashish, 250 grams of synthetic drugs, 50 grams of heroin, and a precision scale.

All suspects and confiscated items were referred to the competent authorities for necessary legal action.

The General Department for Drug Control reaffirmed the continuation of its intensive security campaigns across all governorates to pursue drug dealers and traffickers, emphasizing that efforts remain ongoing around the clock to eradicate sources of narcotics and dismantle trafficking networks.

The Ministry underscored its commitment to protecting national security, ensuring the safety of citizens and residents, and safeguarding future generations from the dangers of this destructive scourge.
