Drone Targets KAFCO Fuel Tanks at Kuwait Airport, No Casualties

KUWAIT CITY, March 8 : A drone attack early Sunday targeted two fuel tanks belonging to the Kuwait Aviation Fueling Company (KAFCO) inside Kuwait International Airport, sparking a large fire at the site but causing no casualties, authorities confirmed.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that initial reports indicated only material damage, with no injuries among personnel or airport workers.

DGCA spokesman Abdullah Al‑Rajhi said firefighting teams and emergency units swiftly responded to the incident, implementing established emergency procedures to contain the blaze. He added that all relevant agencies remain on-site to manage the situation and ensure airport operations remain secure.

The authority also confirmed that DGCA President Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Al‑Hamoud Al‑Sabah is present at the scene, supervising coordination efforts among the various emergency and security teams operating at the airport.

Authorities have yet to disclose further details about the source of the drone or the extent of the damage to the KAFCO facilities.
