Drone Debris Disrupts Power Lines in Southern Kuwait
Ministry of Electricity and Water launches third edition of 'Save' campaign to raise awareness on rational energy consumption.

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 1: Overhead power lines in parts of southern Kuwait and near the Sixth Ring Road were taken out of service after debris from intercepted drones fell onto the network, causing a temporary disturbance to the electrical grid and limited power outages in several areas, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said.

Official spokesperson Eng. Fatima Hayat said emergency response teams were deployed immediately following the incident. Technical crews are currently assessing the damage and carrying out necessary repairs to restore electricity to affected areas as quickly as possible, in line with approved safety and technical standards.

Hayat stressed that the overall electricity and water situation remains under control, noting that power generation, water desalination and transmission systems are operating at high efficiency. Round-the-clock monitoring is ongoing to ensure the stability and uninterrupted delivery of services.

The ministry urged citizens and residents to rely solely on official sources for information, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and to keeping the public updated on any developments.
