KUWAIT CITY, Oct 27, Jahra Traffic Department conducted a surprise crackdown at Yusuf Al-Azbi High School for Boys in Al- Qaser area and arrested 28 minors, issued 591 traffic citations, and impounded 31 vehicles. The campaign was based on instructions from the Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Major General Abdullah Al- Muhanna to control the traffic situation in the governorate, especially minors who drive around without license. The operation was supervised by acting Director of Jahra Traffic Department Aref Behbehani. All those arrested were referred to concerned authorities

Traffic crackdown: The General Traffic Department during surprise inspection campaigns in all the governorates of Kuwait between Oct 18 and Oct 24, has issued 47,948 citations, impounded 1,564 vehicles wanted by law and referred 28 motorists to prison for committing serious traffic violations, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, the department has also referred 19 expatriates to the deportation center for driving without licences
