Drivers In Kuwait Can Now Tint Windows Up To 50%, Windshield Banned

KUWAIT CITY, 2025 – The Ministry of Interior has announced new regulations on vehicle window tinting under Ministerial Resolution No. (1398) of 2025.

According to the decision, motorists are now allowed to install window tinting of up to 50% on their vehicles, while the front windshield must remain fully transparent. The regulation strictly prohibits tinting or applying protective films to the windshield, as well as the use of reflective glass or reflective tint.

Tinting Guidelines:

  • Permitted: Rear windshield, driver’s side windows, and rear passenger windows (up to 50% tint).
  • Not Permitted: Front windshield (no tint or protective film).

This amendment replaces the previously established tinting limits and aims to balance driver comfort with road safety and law enforcement requirements.
