KUWAIT CITY, Oct 6: The General Department of Narcotics Control has referred a man in his thirties to the Public Prosecution after he was found in possession of dangerous, sharp weapons and various narcotic substances. Following his interrogation, prosecutors ordered that he be remanded to the Central Prison for 21 days pending trial. Authorities are also investigating his possible connection to a series of robberies committed by unidentified suspects.
According to a security source, the arrest occurred during a routine patrol on the Sixth Ring Road at around 4:00 a.m. Officers noticed a vehicle moving unusually slowly, despite the road’s speed limit being 120 km/h. Suspecting that the driver might be in distress, the patrol officers activated their lights and signaled for the driver to pull over.
However, upon seeing the patrol’s warning lights, the driver of the black four-wheel-drive vehicle suddenly accelerated to approximately 150 km/h. Backup units were immediately dispatched, and officers managed to stop the vehicle after a brief pursuit.
Upon inspection, officers discovered that the driver was in an abnormal condition. A search of the vehicle uncovered a switchblade, a sharp knife, a metal box ring, and several types of narcotic substances — including a bag of crystal meth, three small bags of heroin, and approximately 25 Captagon pills. They also found a quantity of cash, rolling papers, and a bottle containing hashish-flavored electronic shisha liquid.
The suspect was taken into custody, and all confiscated items were referred to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
