Draw held for Arab Clubs Championship

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: The 5th Arab Clubs Karate Championship will start at 3 p.m. today,which will be hosted by Yarmouk Club with the participation of 150 male and female players from 17 clubs, representing 8 Arab countries. The draw was held for the Arab Clubs Championship, sponsored by the General Sports Authority, for individual “kata” and group “kata” competitions, and for the collective “fighting” competition, in the presence of representatives of all participating Arab clubs .

The head of the Arab Karate Federation, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Qannas was received by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Karate Federation, Muhammad Al-Jassem, and the General Coordinator of the Championship, Muhammad Al-Qattan. For his part, the President of the Kuwaiti Karate Federation, Muhammad Al-Jassem, confirmed that the Championship is first to be hosted by Kuwait after the Corona pandemic, and he said: “We followed with high appreciation the great preparations that the Yarmouk Club Board of Directors made to ensure smooth running of the tournament.

Muhammad Al-Jassem praised the support of the General Authority for Sports for the Karate Federation and the clubs alike, adding that the fifth edition of the Arab Clubs Championship is expected to witness strong competitions. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Karate Federation, Dr. Ibrahim Al- Qannas, praised the efforts made by the Kuwaiti Karate Federation and the Yarmouk Club in hosting the championship

“We are pleased that the State of Kuwait, represented by the Yarmouk Club is hosting this tournament, which is of great interest to the Arab Federation. We decided to assign the task of hosting the fifth edition to the State of Kuwait, due to its high reputation in the organization of Arab, regional, continental and international championships, as well as its pioneering role in Arab sports in general. Ibrahim Al-Qannas expected that the fifth championship for Arab clubs would be the most distinguished from its predecessors from a technical point of view, indicating that the participation of world champions in karate is a great addition to the championship, and promises international standards, which will contribute in raising the general technical level of the championship.
