KUWAIT CITY, Sept 21: In an awareness post published by the Ministry of Interior on its X account, the ministry recommended several essential steps to enhance the security and protection of home surveillance cameras, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The ministry explained that securing home surveillance cameras relies on four main elements - the password, the home internet network, remote access services, and the camera’s source, along with the need to reset its settings periodically. It stressed the importance of regularly changing the default password, using a combination of symbols and numbers, and connecting the camera to a reliable and secure home internet network. The ministry also stressed the need to change the password for the ONVIF service, which can be used for remote access and monitoring login history, in addition to purchasing cameras from well-known and trusted companies.
