KUWAIT CITY, Aug 9: The rising prices of fish in Kuwait markets have prompted growing calls from consumers to boycott fish in protest against what they describe as excessive prices. Supporters of the campaign are urging consumers to refrain from buying fish, using the slogan “Let It Rot” as a way to pressure traders and discourage practices they believe contribute to higher prices.
The campaign also calls for stronger action against monopolization, speculation and unjustified price increases, while expressing frustration over what it describes as limited impact from government ministries and the Kuwaiti Fishermen’s Union in addressing the issue. Supporters say consumer awareness and a coordinated boycott could help push prices down and restore balance to the local fish market.
