WASHINGTON, Jan 15, (Agencies): A peaceful stroll in Michigan took a perilous turn for a 3-year-old canine when she tumbled off a 60-foot cliff. Dancer, accompanied by her Minnesota-based family, was relishing the scenic beauty of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore when she managed to slip out of her leash, as reported by the National Park Service (NPS).

The unfortunate incident unfolded near Minors Castle, where Dancer descended 60 feet from the cliff to a ledge below. Despite hours of searching in the darkness, her owners, resigned to the grim possibility, assumed she had not survived.

Upon learning of the situation, park rangers contacted Superior High Angle Rescue Professionals (SHARP), a specialized rope rescue team, to locate the dog believed to be in a precarious area along Lake Superior’s shoreline.

The next morning, SHARP members Erik Olsen, Westley Shaffer, and Tyler Davis ventured to the site and successfully located Dancer – cold but alive, according to the NPS statement.

Dancer, affectionately labeled a “professional troublemaker” by her owners, was joyously reunited with her family and is on the road to recovery following her harrowing experience.
