Documenting history of Kuwait will enlighten next generations: Al-Jarba

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 7: Dean of Kuwaiti Journalism and Editor-in-Chief of Al-Seyassah and Arab Times newspapers Ahmed Al-Jarallah met with history and political researcher Fahad Faris Al-Jarba, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The meeting tackled the importance of documenting the history of Kuwait by preserving the documents and sources that chronicle its events, milestones and prominent figures.

During the meeting, Al-Jarba announced that he is dedicating his historical work on the ‘Red Palace’ to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al- Khaled Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people, in recognition of Kuwait’s history and in an effort to preserve its national memory for future generations. Al-Jarba said the work is the result of his interest in documenting historical facts related to Kuwait and consulting documents and sources that help present events accurately and in a reliable manner, thereby, safeguarding the history of the country and immortalizing prominent figures. He explained that his efforts in this field will extend beyond the ‘Red Palace’ project, disclosing that he is currently examining, reviewing and verifying the contents of a number of historical documents and sources in preparation for their approval by the Center for Research and Studies on Kuwait (CRSK), so that they can contribute to the existing body of sources documenting the history of the country.

He stressed that documenting history is a responsibility that requires accuracy and careful verification, particularly when dealing with historical documents and information. He underscored the importance of passing this history on to future generations in a reliable manner that preserves the truth of events and the standing of the figures who played a vital role in Kuwait’s history. He expressed his appreciation for Al-Seyassah and Arab Times newspapers for supporting the project since its inception, while praising Al-Jarallah’s interest in initiatives and efforts that serve history, and contribute to preserving and highlighting national memory. He also conveyed his gratitude to Fahad Abdulrahman Al-Rish for supporting the project from its early stages and for recognizing the importance of documenting Kuwait’s history. He added that his achievements in this field is part of an ongoing effort to preserve documents and the history of the nation, and pass them on to the future generations, ensuring that local events and prominent figures remain in the national memory.

Meanwhile, Al-Jarallah commended the project, specifically the efforts to document an important aspect of the history of Kuwait.
