KUWAIT CITY, Nov 6: Director General of Kuwait Municipality Eng Saud Al-Dabbous has confirmed the directive of the Public Sanitation Committee not to extend the contracts of cleaning companies under any circumstances while adhering to the periods specified in the contracts, reports Al-Rai daily. Al-Dabbous told the daily that he had a long meeting with directors, supervisors, and heads of cleaning departments in the Municipality branches in the governorates recently. He instructed these departments to submit a periodic report on the general performance of companies and to hold accountable those proven to be negligent in implementing the terms of the contracts.

“This trend will bring about a radical change in the way cleaning contracts are dealt with,” he added. He also stressed the need to hold accountable any employee who fails to perform his work, warning that he would take the necessary action against sanitation inspectors and employees in case of failure.
