KUWAIT CITY, Oct 13: The Kuwait Municipality stressed that protecting state properties is a shared responsibility, while affirming that efforts to deal with encroachments are ongoing, extending beyond temporary removal campaigns, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Speaking to the press during an inspection tour in Hawally Governorate, member of the central team at the Office of the Municipality Director General Mohammad Al-Jalawi revealed that the “Kuwait is More Beautiful without Encroachments” campaign launched in June plays a crucial role in ensuring public safety. He stated that during the tour, the inspection team removed an unlicensed diwaniya set up near the sidewalk and utility lines after the grace period ended. He said the violator was warned earlier but failed to comply.
He commended the cooperation and prompt response of most property owners in voluntarily removing their violations, urging the remaining violators to take the initiative to remove them before the inspection teams arrive. He also highlighted the significant role played by government entities participating in the campaign since its inception, like the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Interior and Environment Public Authority (EPA). He added that the Municipality urges citizens and residents to follow its official accounts to benefit from the awareness messages and guidelines published regularly, and to contact it regarding any regulatory requirements to ease procedures and ensure compliance with the regulations and bylaws
