‘Disabled’ list reviewed – 1,000 face cut

KUWAIT CITY, June 2: The Public Authority for the Disabled Affairs (PADA) has deleted the names of 1,000 ‘disabled’ persons from its list after reviewing their files and sending them to medical evaluation committees as part of the process of updating their files and medical data, reports Al-Rai daily.

A source said a special medical committee which has been formed to look into the files of the disabled has amended the files of 2,150 people who claim disability. Some of them have been reduced to ‘severe’, ‘moderate’ or ‘simple’.

The source pointed, the number of disabled files registered with the PADA is 50,219, and most of them have been examined by the doctors from the special medical committee. The source noted, PADA is carrying out procedures in relation to the disability claim through a decision to form a reevaluation committee
