Diplomats congratulate Kuwait on Ramadan and national milestones

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19: Ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions in the country continued to express their greetings on the occasion of the 65th National Day and the 35th Liberation Day, asserting that these milestones prove the resilience and determination that define this esteemed nation and its people. They also commended the development achievements of Kuwait and its prominent humanitarian role.

Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the State of Kuwait, Hans- Christian Freiherr von Reibnitz stated “the State of Kuwait is celebrating its 65th National Day and 35th Liberation Day. These two occasions affirm the resilience and determination of this dear country and its generous people. The liberation of Kuwait 35 years ago marked a pivotal chapter in its modern history, as it restored its sovereignty with the support of an expansive international coalition. Kuwait subsequently embarked on a confident and steadfast path of reconstruction and development, continuing its progress with firm steps toward a promising future. I wish Kuwait continuous security and stability.”

Turkish Ambassador Tuba Sönmez stressed that the National Day and Liberation Day are cherished national occasions, reflecting the unity, resilience and commitment of the Kuwaiti people to preserve their sovereignty and stability. She said “we remember with utmost reverence the souls of those who lost their lives during the 1990 invasion, a defining moment in the region’s history. The Republic of Turkiye stood firmly by Kuwait from the earliest moments of the crisis.” She reiterated her greetings and expressed wishes for the permanent security, prosperity and progress of Kuwait, affirming that Turkiye will always stand by Kuwait, as it has been doing consistently.

Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia Arsen Arakelyan stated that he is proud of the deep-rooted ties between the Republic of Armenia and the State of Kuwait, underscoring his country’s commitment to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields in a manner that serves mutual interests and reinforces the friendship between the two nations. He confirmed that the humanitarian values embedded in the holy month of Ramadan are considered a valuable opportunity to promote intercultural understanding and dialogue, praising the spiritual and social atmosphere that distinguishes the holy month in Kuwait.

Head of Mission of the International Organization for Migration Mazen Abu Al-Hassan commended the unwavering support of Kuwait for humanitarian causes at the regional and international levels. He stated that the strong partnership between the organization and Kuwait is built upon decades of cooperation, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to serve humanity, wishing the country continuous progress and prosperity.

Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco Ali Ibn Issa pointed out that the National Day and Liberation Day celebrations coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan carries profound symbolism and reflects the depth of shared Arab and Islamic values that unite the Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Kuwait, at the leadership and popular levels. He added that these occasions highlight the journey of a nation founded on the principles of wisdom and balance, which established itself as a stable and influential State regionally and internationally, guided by a forward-looking vision that puts human development at the forefront of its priorities. He also emphasized that relations between the two brotherly countries are rooted in constructive cooperation, solidarity, and a unified stance on Arab and Islamic issues.

British Ambassador to Kuwait Qudsi Rasheed said “Kuwait has long been recognized for its generosity and humanitarian spirit. During my first Ramadan in Kuwait, I look forward to experiencing the rich Kuwaiti traditions that reflect the true values of this holy month and the inherent generosity, compassion, family spirit, gratitude and reflection of its people. I pray that this blessed month brings peace and blessings to all. Ramadan Kareem.”

Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the State of Kuwait Sinan Al- Majali affirmed that the convergence of the holy month with the anniversaries of Independence and Liberation highlights the special significance of this occasion. He added that it reflects Kuwait’s deeprooted national unity, its blessed development path, and its wise leadership, which consolidated the regional and international stature of the country. He cited the depth of the historic fraternal ties between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the State of Kuwait, underscoring the bonds of affection and close cooperation between the two brotherly nations and reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen relations in various fields in a manner that serves mutual interests.

Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the State of Kuwait Ayub Khan Yunusov stated that Ramadan, with its meanings of reflection, worship and solidarity, embodies the highest human values and strengthens unity among peoples. He expressed his aspiration for the continuous strengthening of friendly relations and cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the State of Kuwait in pursuit of greater prosperity and the shared interests of both countries.

Greek Ambassador Ioannis Plotas said “Kuwait’s history is a story of resilience, unity and commitment to progress. These national milestones stand as a testament to the vision of its leadership and the spirit of its people, which have enabled the country to flourish while upholding the values of tolerance, dialogue and mutual respect.” Plotas also conveyed his appreciation for the longstanding relations between Greece and State of Kuwait, stressing the importance of further strengthening partnerships that promote cultural exchange, economic cooperation and shared human values.

Apostolic Nuncio to Kuwait Archbishop Eugene Martin Nugent said “spending the month of Ramadan in Kuwait has been a rich and profound experience for me. Fasting fosters spiritual growth and self-discipline and heightens awareness of the needs of others — values beautifully reflected in family iftar gatherings, ghabga evenings, diwaniyas, and the generous support extended by society to those in need.” The Apostolic Nuncio also congratulated the Kuwaiti leadership and people on the 65th anniversary of National Day and the 35th anniversary of Liberation Day.

Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the State of Kuwait Emil Karimov extended his congratulations to Kuwait’s political leadership, government and people, praying to Almighty Allah to grant the State of Kuwait permanent peace and prosperity and to bless its brotherly and friendly people with sustained progress, wellbeing and happiness.
