KUWAIT CITY, May 12: Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has urged travelers not to book tickets or make reservations with unauthorized airlines until official operating approvals are issued, stressing that the move is aimed at protecting passengers’ rights and regulating air traffic in the country.
DGCA spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi said on Tuesday that only Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways are currently operating flights from Kuwait International Airport, while all other airlines have yet to receive official operating permits.
Al-Rajhi added that passengers who have already booked with unauthorized airlines can submit complaints through the Sahel app, enabling authorities to take legal action against violating airlines in line with applicable regulations.
He noted that the Sahl app serves as the approved electronic platform for receiving and tracking complaints related to airlines and travel agencies, helping ensure passenger rights are protected and complaints are resolved efficiently.
