DGCA gives nod for extension of airport project contract

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 22: The Directorate-General of Civil Aviation has given its approval for the extension of the contract related to the Sheikh Sa’ad Al-Abdullah Airport project, overseen by Royal Aviation Kuwait -- a subsidiary of the United Projects for Aviation Services Company (UPAC), reports Al-Seyassah daily.

According to a statement issued by UPAC, the decision to extend the contract until May 14, 2024, was reached following negotiations between the subsidiary company and the DGCA authorities. This extension was necessitated by the closure of the western road leading to the Sheikh Sa’ad Al Abdullah Airport building in May.

UPAC emphasized that the financial implications of this significant development involve the continuation of the subsidiary company's operations in the project, with its outcomes being reflected in the accumulated data. In the first nine months of the previous year, UPAC reported a profit of 3.53 million dinars.
