KUWAIT CITY, June 13: Detectives have launched an intensive investigation to track down an unidentified suspect believed to be behind a series of thefts involving vehicle exhaust pipes across multiple areas, according to a security source.
The source said that the suspect is believed to have stolen 13 exhaust pipes from parked vehicles in different locations, raising suspicions that a single individual may be responsible for all the incidents. The pattern of thefts, including the method of entry and removal of the parts, reportedly shows a consistent modus operandi.
Investigators noted that the speed and precision with which the exhaust systems were dismantled suggest that the perpetrator may have technical knowledge or prior experience in handling vehicle components. This has led authorities to believe the suspect is familiar with automotive structures and tools, enabling the thefts to be carried out quickly without attracting attention.
Security teams are currently reviewing surveillance footage from affected areas and collecting evidence in an effort to identify and apprehend the suspect. Patrols have also been intensified in locations where similar incidents were reported.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the suspect’s identity and prevent further thefts of vehicle parts across residential and public areas.
