KUWAIT CITY, Dec 9: The Ministry of Interior completed several key joint security and technical initiatives, including the launch of the wireless communications project (TETRA), the implementation of an electronic system for exchanging fingerprints of deportees, and the introduction of additional traffic-related services in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Interior.

In a press statement, the ministry said that Brigadier Abdullah Al-Ateeqi, Head of the Traffic and Operations Affairs Sector, held a meeting with members of the Kuwaiti and Emirati technical teams participating in the eighth coordination meeting aimed at following up on joint connectivity projects between the two countries’ interior ministries.

As part of the visit, the joint delegation toured the operations room at the Ministry of Interior headquarters in the Subhan area, where they were briefed on the latest operational systems and advanced technologies used to support security operations and traffic management.

The eighth meeting of the technical teams was held over two days, yesterday and today. It was chaired on the Kuwaiti side by Brigadier General Khaled Al-Adwani, Head of the Kuwaiti Technical Team, and on the Emirati side by Brigadier General Abdulaziz Al-Ahmad, Head of the Emirati Technical Team.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the progress made on the recommendations issued during previous sessions and discussed several joint projects. These included the bilateral linkage project for supplementary traffic services, the electronic exchange of data and fingerprints of deportees, and the wireless communications linkage system (TETRA), which aims to enhance coordination and real-time communication between security agencies.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to strengthening joint Gulf cooperation and further developing security and traffic systems. The ministry emphasized that these efforts are intended to enhance institutional integration, improve the quality of services provided, and support the achievement of the shared strategic objectives of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
