‘Fishing ban violations monitored’
KUWAIT CITY, July 25: The authorities tasked to protect the marine environment have laid down a tripartite plan to raise the alert level and monitor violation of the fishing ban at Kuwait Bay; which includes strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Interior, Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR), and Environment Public Authority (EPA); intensifying marine patrols throughout the day; and checking all fishing boats and ships, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources. Sources disclosed the Coast Guard Sector in the Ministry of Interior has been instructed to immediately deport any expatriate caught fishing at the Bay without a license, while a citizen with similar violation will be referred to the competent authority for legal action.
