KUWAIT CITY, Dec 13: In a serious breach of public trust, investigators in Abu Fatira have arrested a police officer from the Capital Governorate for fabricating false criminal cases against expatriates in exchange for bribes, officials confirmed.
According to security sources, the officer deliberately filed fake accusations and forged reports to initiate deportation procedures against unsuspecting expatriates, demanding advance payments of KD 500 per case to carry out the illegal scheme. The victims were allegedly targeted under the threat of arrest and forced deportation from the country.
During interrogation, the accused officer reportedly confessed to all charges before the Public Prosecution, admitting to abusing his authority for personal financial gain. The case has sent shockwaves through law enforcement circles.
Authorities have now launched a comprehensive review of all cases previously handled by the officer to identify victims, overturn wrongful actions, and ensure accountability for any related violations.
The Ministry stressed that such acts represent a grave violation of duty and warned that any exploitation of official positions for personal benefit will be met with the harshest legal consequences, reaffirming its commitment to integrity, justice, and the protection of residents’ rights.
