KUWAIT CITY, Nov 9: Operations at Kuwait International Airport are stable and flights are running according to schedule following an improvement in weather conditions, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said Sunday.
DGCA spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi told reporters that takeoffs and landings resumed after dense fog and reduced horizontal visibility, which dropped below 100 meters early Sunday morning, disrupted airport operations. The fog forced the diversion of several incoming flights to airports in neighboring countries.
“All necessary operational procedures were implemented in coordination with airlines and relevant authorities to ensure the highest standards of air safety,” Al-Rajhi said, emphasizing that passenger and aircraft safety remain the DGCA’s top priority.
He added that the DGCA is continuously monitoring weather conditions to maintain smooth air traffic flow and safe operations. Al-Rajhi also praised the airport staff and the cooperation of airlines and passengers during the temporary flight diversions.
