Deer breaks into Tennesse diner.

WASHINGTON, Nov 20, (Agencies): A routine evening for two families dining at a local Tennessee diner took an unexpected turn on Monday night. The Grind restaurant in Martin, Tennessee, became the scene of an unusual incident when a deer crashed through the window from the parking lot, disrupting the peaceful meal of six individuals.

In a dramatic video capturing the incident, the shattering of glass prompted the startled family to hastily vacate their seats, while a brave man in the restaurant went in pursuit of the unexpected intruder. Amid the chaos, the deer’s hoof struck 13-year-old Ruby Hayes’ shoulder as it flew over a table. Hayes was promptly taken to a nearby hospital, where she reportedly received 11 stitches for the injury.

Once inside the restaurant, the deer continued its disruptive path, maneuvering around tables, knocking over chairs, and eventually finding a temporary stop in a different section of the diner. Surveillance footage reveals the deer darting through the area behind the bar as restaurant staff made a quick escape, flagging each other down to draw attention to the uninvited guest.

As the deer approached the exit, a man opened the door, allowing the bewildered animal to make its exit. A witness, Alicia Owens, who was seated at the table directly impacted by the deer’s entrance, expressed disbelief at the surreal scene, describing it as “so bizarre.” Owens recounted the desperate struggle of the deer on the slippery glass, highlighting the peculiarity of the situation given the diner’s urban setting in the heart of town, near the University of Tennessee, Martin.

Despite the unsettling experience, Hayes, though shaken, is reported to be back home and in good spirits. The incident left both diners and onlookers astounded at the unexpected and unusual turn of events in their local eatery.
