Deepika Padukone’s ‘Deewani Mastani’ shines on Oscars’ Insta

MUMBAI, India, April 4: In a gesture of recognition, The Academy shared a captivating dance performance by Deepika Padukone in the song ‘Deewani Mastani’ from the acclaimed film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ (2015) on their Instagram page. The song, a masterpiece by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, features vocals by Shreya Ghoshal with lyrics penned by Siddharth Garima and music composed by Bhansali himself. Alongside Deepika Padukone, the historical drama also starred Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in pivotal roles.

Accompanying the video clip, The Academy captioned, “Deepika Padukone performing ‘Deewani Mastani’ (sung by Shreya Ghoshal) from the movie ‘Bajirao Mastani.’ Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.” Ranveer Singh, acknowledging the tribute, commented on the post, describing it as “Mesmeric.”

This isn’t the first time Deepika Padukone’s talent has been recognized by The Academy. Last year, she had the honor of introducing the performance of the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the blockbuster film ‘RRR’ (2022) at the 95th Academy Awards ceremony.

Looking ahead, Deepika Padukone’s upcoming projects include ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Kalki 2898 AD.’ She was last seen in Siddharth Anand’s action-packed film ‘Fighter,’ where she shared the screen with Hrithik Roshan.
