Declare Cash, Gold, And Valuables At Kuwait Airports

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 16: The Ministry of Interior has once again emphasized the need for travelers to declare money, gold, jewelry, and valuables. According to the rules, anyone carrying cash amounting to 3,000 Kuwaiti dinars or more, or its equivalent in foreign currency, must declare it to the Financial Investigation Department at the airport using the customs declaration form, whether upon arrival or departure.

The Ministry emphasized that gold in all its forms—such as bullion, jewelry, and precious watches—must also be declared when leaving the country.

  • For gold bullion, a document is issued by the Air Cargo Department near the T4 building.
  • For precious watches, gold jewelry, and other valuables, a sighting note is issued at departure, and another upon return, provided that receipts are presented during inspection.

Officials clarified that this declaration process is a legal requirement aimed at combating money laundering and terrorist financing, and does not in any way restrict a traveler’s ability to leave the country.
