Hadid, who has Palestinian and Dutch American heritage, received these threats through various channels, including email, social media, and phone messages after their contact details were reportedly leaked online. Hadid’s relatives, including her sister Bella, brother Anwar, and parents Yolanda and Mohammed, have taken measures such as changing their phone numbers due to these threats. There is mention of her father considering contacting the FBI in response to these threats.

On social media, Gigi Hadid shared her perspective on the situation, highlighting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. She stressed her support for the Palestinian people and expressed that condemning the actions of the Israeli government is not inherently antisemitic, and supporting Palestinians does not equate to supporting Hamas.

The Israeli government responded to her posts on social media, strongly criticizing her for her stance in support of the Palestinian people. They also tagged her in posts emphasizing the impact of the conflict on civilians, especially children and questioned her stance.

Gigi Hadid, in a separate post, expressed her condolences for those affected by the conflict, acknowledging the tragic loss of innocent lives. She stated her empathy for the Palestinian struggle and life under occupation, underscoring her daily commitment to this issue.
