KUWAIT CITY, April 26: The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict of the Criminal Court that sentenced a Kuwaiti man to death by hanging for murdering his ex-wife. Case files indicate the citizen stabbed his ex-wife to death in front of their son in Salwa after the victim got custody of their child.

Attorney Howra Al-Habib, who represented the heirs of the victim in court, believes this sentence will reduce the number of crimes that men commit against their ex-wives.

She said, “We need this kind of ruling as it seems easy for some people to commit such a horrible crime. At the same time, we are not happy about death by hanging but this sentence is according to Sharia Law. If the matter is in our hands, we will wish for a secure life for everyone,”
